Testimonials

"I have five grandchildren in Sekolah Seri Suria.

Adam and Karena joined the school in 2005, followed by Farah and Faten in 2006 and Farhan in 2007. Prior to enrolling in this school, Farah and Faten were schooling in England whereas the rest were in Sekolah Kebangsaan. Their overall academic performance was relatively weak.

Now, Farah, Faten and Karena have recorded excellent results while Adam and Farhan have made impressive progress since they began studying in this school.

I have frequent discussions with the teaching staff and I must say that they are fully committed to helping the children prepare for the highest academic achievement."

"Two years ago, I was looking for a suitable private school for my son who is going to Primary One. My neighbour who has three children studying in SSS then introduced the school to me. The quiet surrounding and abundance of greenery plus the fresh air are among the reasons why I enrolled my son in the school. Another reason is that I was very impressed by the warmness and initiatives of the office staff and the teachers on duty. I think the school is lucky to have staff who are so dedicated.

For the past one year, my son has been enjoying his school days and treats his teachers as his friends. I would say the teachers are doing a very good job in helping the students to excel in their studies and to make them feel comfortable in school. The teachers are also very approachable and helpful so that parents do not hesitate to discuss the progress of their children with them.

I always think that teamwork really exists in this school. From the cleaners, office staff, teachers to the principal, they are ever so warm and caring. I hope they can maintain this quality to make the school successful. As a parent, I appreciate their every effort and will certainly give my full support to the school.

Lastly, I hope the parents and the school will work together to make SSS a better school for the children. I wish the school every success in the near future."

"As a parent whose child has been studying at Sekolah Seri Suria for more than two years, I would like to share my opinion about the school environment, among other things.

The school provides a healthy, conducive environment for the students to concentrate on their studies and give parents peace of mind. It is situated off the main road, is not susceptible to noise and air pollution.

There is also ample parking space for parents and the school security is tight. However, it can be quite a hassle picking up my child on rainy days as there is no direct access to the school's sheltered compound.

The principals are highly approachable, helpful and they always have time to listen to my views on matters related to the well-being of my son. Issues are promptly looked into.

The teachers are a dedicated lot as well. They do give me feedback on my son's performance in class, which I appreciate. I do not feel inhibited whenever I need to approach any of the teachers for clarification or advice.

Thus far, I am satisfied with my son's progress at school. I hope the principals and teachers will continue to provide him quality guidance so that he will turn out to be a "Seri Surian" that the school will be proud of."

"As a parent, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the teachers in SSS are very friendly, polite and responsible compared to other schools that I have visited. The classroom environment is good. Besides that, the teachers are well trained especially my child’s teacher of Jr I Vision.

Food at school canteen is acceptable compared to other schools. The school compound is very clean and security is good.

My daughter loves her school very much.

On the whole, I have never regretted sending my child to SSS. I am happy that I have made the right choice by putting my child in this school.

KEEP IT UP SEKOLAH SERI SURIA!!"

"Education is not confined to books and examinations. The best teacher of all is experiences which is one of the main reasons why parents sent their children to Sek Seri Suria. The school sets high of teaching and ensures that children are able to absorb what is taught. The environment is safe and conducive as a school.

I have four children in this school and they all have no problem fitting into the tapestry of multi-racial and multi-cultural settings. As a matter of fact, they will develop an open minded approach whilst displaying their individual personalities.

Sending our children to Sekolah Seri Suria is our way of providing them with a better future; a future that comes with good personality and character, good career opportunities to lead meaningful and prosperous lives."

Sally Juanda joined the school in 1997 and completed her SPM in 2001. Here is an extract of her letter...

"Coming from Indonesia at a trying time [1997], was not easy to cope with. But the class teacher made it so natural and easy for me. What made SSS so incredible were the teachers and students. They were so closely bonded together. We were more like colleagues. Helping each other realize our talents and moving towards our goals together. Soon I felt that this school was my second home."

What I learnt?
"Studying in Seri Suria has been an achievement in itself. I learnt a lot of things. Apart from the high level of academic standard, we are required to be active in extra-curricular activities. Through these activities, I have matured into a more rounded personality.

The school also nurtured the sense of leadership and responsiblilty in me. My appointment as a prefect really pushed me to set personal standards. What's more was the chance to stand between my schoolmates and some so-called 'fierce, strict and mean discipline teachers'. How I conducted myself then was in fact the foundation stone on shaping my personality.

It was really the prime period of my life when the school balanced academic achievement with physical, social and spiritual development."

My unforgettable experience?
"SSS has been losing the Interschool Public Speaking Competition for a few consecutive years. That year as we were waiting for the judge's decision, the tense feeling was beyond description. The sense of togetherness, the genuine concern over fellow-students' accomplishment were to me... priceless. I learnt one valuable lesson. As an individual I am strong... but as a group we are a formidable lot. The victory compensated for the hardwork and struggles in life."

"I enjoyed my stay thoroughly in Sekolah Seri Suria. I wish to thank all my teachers, Mrs Mano and my parents for sending me to the school."

Former Student - SPM 2001

Tee Lien Sea joined in 1991 in primary 1 and graduated in 2002 [SPM]. She is currently in her 4th year Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery.

"Those days back in SSS were great and memorable. Those wonderful times with my friends and teachers were beyond words. Perhaps I took that for granted. It's only when in Melbourne that I feel nostalgia creeping back on me, making me home sick at times. I wished that I could unwind time and return to SSS, just for one day.

Do you have a word of advice for present students?
"Please appreciate your time in SSS. Make the best of it. Enjoy being in school, enjoy the learning, enjoy the fun and even the punishment. Do not be too eager to graduate from school. Schooling in SSS is the best time you've bargained for. Oh yes, keep all trophies, medals and certificates, and of course your friends. Let them remind you of great times. The school helps you shape personality and build character.

What course am I doing?
"I have been in Melbourne four years now, doing my Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery. The first two years were spent in the campus. Now I'm posted to a real hospital, meeting real patients, handling real cases and taking instructions from a matured doctor. The exposure and taining in various activities in SSS prepared one for this phase of life".

Do you have an unusual encounter that reminds you of your school?
"A year ago, I met a friend in Melbourne. During the first encounter, nothing sparked the friendship until the moment we found out that we came from the same school, SSS. right after that we talked as if we knew each other like old friends, even though we had not met during our school days. Truly, Seri Suria has never ceased to be a part of my life. It is my earnest wish that SSS will continue to groom and transform students in terms of academic results and a positive disposition".

Former Student – SPM 2002

Leong Yun Rui joined in 1993 in primary 1 and graduated in 2003 [SPM]. She just finished her Diploma of Architecture in ALFA International College [formally known as Alif College. ALFA International is a member of the R.E.A.L schools].

"Looking back, I have been a student at Sekolah Seri Suria for as long as I can remember. In 1993, I was in Junior 1, in Block B. The following year, I moved to Block A, and finally spent my secondary years in Block C. I guess I can say that as I grew, the school literally grew with me.

As a matter of fact, I can attach a piece of happy memory at every nook and cranny in the school".

Looking back, what is education to you?
"Education includes, but is not limited to academic achievements. The things I've learnt become more valuable after I left school. I'd like to thank all the dear teachers and beloved friends who've taught me much more 'knowledge' than from the books. I learnt how to cope with peer pressure or being ostracized; about genuine and superficial friendships; about passing through puberty and having my first crush! Soon the academic records would fade and be forgotten! But I will always remember my dedicated teachers, true friends and the living-skills of life. To me, this is real education."

Does being a Surian make you different?
"Yes! For the past 11 years, I've been in one big family called Seri Suria. To a certain extent, I've been taking it for granted. When I entered ALFA International College, I found that there is a distinct advantage, especially in communication and social skills, apart from the advantages I mentioned in the preceding paragraph. As I progress into further education and eventually into the working world, I am confident these advantages will further enhance my opportunity to excel."

Advice?
"Appreciate all that is offered in Seri Suria. Do not waste time on murmurings and complaints. The hard work and responsibilities of teachers and all those behind the scene can only be repaid if you do well and succeed in life.

To my parents, teachers and Mrs Mano, I love you all!"

Leong Yun Rui
Former Student - SPM 2003

"I would like thank Seri Suria because this is the place where I found myself. I spent a total of 8 years here. The ups and downs of school life; happy and sad moments have all turned out to be useful in life. I thank the teachers who mentored me from the Junior to Senior years. Without them, I would not have achieved so many A's in my UPSR, PMR and SPM. Even though I've left the school, I will never forget the advice the teachers gave me. I promise, I'll remember and use them appropriately."

Adam Yap Chee Kian [SPM-2005]
Student at ALFA International College

"Since joining the school in Junior 2, I have appreciated every moment in school. It was a good 10 years of my life!

Thank you teachers for all the innumerable things that helped groom and nurture me with good leadership and attitude. I found a lot of sincere friends; friends who shared my happiness and sad moments and are always ready to lend a helping hand in times of need. SSS is not just a school. It's one big family.

SSS is the BEST place to learn!

Thank you Seri Suria!"

Wai Hong [SPM-2005]
Student at ALFA International College

"When we choose a school, there are many factors to consider. But the most important is the quality of the teachers.

Seri Suria has some of the finest and most dedicated teachers. These honourable educators only focus on making students better individuals. I am certainly grateful to them.

Teachers, I thank and salute you!"

Kok Hoong Chong [SPM-2005]
Student at ALFA International College

"I joined the school in Junior 1. Over these 11 years, I've matured a lot. I'd like to say a big thank you to all the teachers who have taught me over the years. I owe my academic achievements to them.

Seri Suria is not just a place of study and more studying! The friends in school make life much more interesting. The ups and downs really strengthen me."

Way Loon [SPM-2005]

"I am very happy to be a part of Seri Suria. I joined the school in Senior 1 and left after SPM in 2004.

The environment and teachers helped me a great deal in studies and communicative skills. The other useful things I learnt include; being independent and responsible, striving for excellence and many more. All these are not easy to achieve if not for the helpful friends and teachers in the school.

It has really given me the habit of improving myself to be better than the best!

Thank you Seri Suria."

Loo Jeng Yue [SPM-2004]

"Over the years, Seri Suria has developed me into the individual I now am. The friendly environment allows everyone to grow and improve at a healthy rate, is truly conducive and has made Seri Suria a home I will always remember fondly.

For a better insight to the practical skills in life, come to Seri Suria!"

Wong Ming Foong [SPM-2005]
TAR College- A-level 2006/7

"Nothing beats high school life! Coming back to Seri Suria recently really made me realise how much I miss my days in high school. University life is good but high school life is GREAT! I miss everything about Seri Suria; the teachers, classrooms, the field and toilets... hahaha...

To all the students in the school, enjoy your time in Seri Suria before there is no more chance!"

Jermaine Bee Li Yuen [SPM-2005]

"It has been a while since I left high school. However, a visit back to Seri Suria is still so great. It refreshes the sweet memories in my mind! I know they'll always be there.

All the best to Surians who are still striving to get good grades. You'll certainly make it."

Lim Sin Yee [SPM-2005]

"Wonderful memories in high school life will always linger in my mind. The love and caring within the family of Surians will never be forgotten. They'll always be part of me no matter what happens. It is sweet history to all of us.

All the best to Surians and enjoy your school life! Smile always."
